International Transfer Notice: BYB is based in Malaysia. By using our Platform, you understand that your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States, where our secure servers are located.

1. Information We Collect

We collect information that you provide to us directly and information effectively necessary to provide our financial tracking services.

A. Personal Account Information

• Email Address: Required for login and account recovery.
• Password: Stored in a hashed (encrypted) format.
• Google Profile: If you choose to log in via Google OAuth, we collect your email address and basic profile information provided by Google.

B. Financial Data (Synced Accounts)

To provide automated budgeting, we connect to third-party financial aggregators:

• Banking Data: If you connect via Plaid, we collect and store your transaction history and account balances on our secure servers.
• Investment Data: If you connect via SnapTrade, we collect and store your brokerage account holdings and balances.
• Crypto Data: If you provide a public wallet address, we use the Ethplorer API to fetch and display your token balances. We do not have access to your private keys.

C. User-Uploaded Content (Receipts)

You may voluntarily upload screenshots of receipts or bank transactions for manual tracking.

• Processing: These images are processed using AI technology (Anthropic's Claude models) to extract merchant, date, and amount details.
• No Retention: Once the text is extracted, we do not store the image file. The image is deleted immediately after processing.

2. How We Use Your Information

• To create and manage your account.
• To calculate your net worth and categorize your spending.
• To provide the "Manual Mode" receipt scanning feature.
• To respond to your enquiries via email.
• To maintain the security of our Platform.

3. Disclosure of Your Information

We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information. We only share information with the following third-party service providers to facilitate our services:

Legal Requirements: We may disclose your information if required to do so by law or in the good-faith belief that such action is necessary to comply with Malaysian laws or the laws of the jurisdiction where our servers reside.

4. Data Storage and Security

• Location: Your data is stored on secure servers provided by AWS in the United States (Region: US-East-1).
• Security Measures: We use industry-standard encryption for data in transit and at rest. We do not store banking credentials (usernames/passwords) directly; these are handled via Plaid and SnapTrade tokens.
• Retention: We retain your financial transaction history as long as your account is active to provide historical budgeting data. You may request deletion of this data at any time.

5. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the following rights regarding your data:

• Access: The right to request copies of the personal data we hold about you.
• Correction: The right to request that we correct any information you believe is inaccurate.
• Deletion: The right to request that we delete your account and associated data.

Our Services are not intended for use by children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal identifiable information from children under 13. If we become aware that we have collected personal data from a child under 13, we will take steps to delete that information.
